Ford, Jaguar Cut Thousands Of Jobs In Europe

According to Reuters, Ford and Jaguar Land Rover made tons of job cuts across Europe on Thursday. Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover said it will cut 4,500 out of 42,500 jobs. Ford said it will slash “thousands” of jobs and may discontinue some models. Carmakers are struggling due to the ongoing trade war between China and the United States as well as Britain’s forthcoming exit from the European Union. Jaguar Land Rover Chief Commercial Officer Felix Brautigan said, “The economic slowdown in China along with ongoing trade tensions is continuing to influence consumer confidence." h
