According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, President Donald Trump announced planned changes to temporary H-1B visas, issued to highly educated immigrants working in specialty occupations like medicine or technology, including a potential pathway to US citizenship. Trump said in a Twitter post that H1-B visa folders, "in the United States can rest assured that changes are soon coming which will bring both simplicity and certainty to your stay, including a potential path to citizenship." Reuters reports that Trump has often emphasized his desires for an immigration system that favored educated or highly skilled people.
