Amazon Warehouse Workers Hospitalized in Bear Repellent Incident

Dozens of workers at an Amazon facility were sent to the hospital after a bear spray can fell off a shelf and discharged. According to, the incident resulted in 54 workers needing medical treatment. Worker advocacy groups say the accident was a sign of "a profound lack of safety planning and training.” Amazon has over 16,000 employees at nine fulfillment centers in New Jersey.
