Sheriff's Deputy Killed After Confronting Gunman At California Bar

According to Reuters, a gunman killed 12 people at a popular bar with college students in California. Police said the gunman also killed a sheriff’s deputy. Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said the gunman was found dead inside the Borderline Bar and Grill, who apparently shot himself. Located in Thousand Oaks, the bar is popular with students of local universities because it hosts College Country Night. Identified as Ian David Long, the gunman was a Marine Corps veteran who served in Afghanistan.
