According to a report by Business Insider, Floyd Mayweather's proposed MMA debut was cancelled almost immediately after being announced on Monday. However, just two days later, Mayweather announced on Instagram that the fight was cancelled. The retired boxer claimed that he was 'completely blindsided' by the arrangements of the fight, saying that he was under the impression it would have been a private exhibition as opposed to an official fight card. In the same post, Mayweather reportedly described himself as "a retired boxer that earns an unprecedented amount of money, globally, for appearances, speaking engagements, and occasional small exhibitions."
