According to a report by Reuters, on Wednesday, the operator of a limousine company that owned the vehicle involved in a deadly crash that killed 20 people in upstate New York has been taken into custody and charged with criminally negligent homicide. The company’s lawyer, Lee Kindlon, reportedly said at a news conference that Hussain’s girlfriend and brother were at the police barracks earlier for some “initial questioning.” Reuters reports that it remains unclear if other family members were questioned. On Saturday, the vehicle ran a stop sign before crashing into an unoccupied parked car and two pedestrians before coming to rest in a shallow ravine, killing the driver, all 17 passengers, and the two pedestrians.
