According to Business Insider, the extent of the American truck driver shortage has made top headlines many times this year. However, Transfix CEO Drew McElroy is saying that a shortage in drivers isn't the only thing that's dragging the industry down. Another factor is technology like GPS that is not being widely implemented, McElroy claims that the trucking industry can be "incredibly wasteful." According to a new report, The United States will be short 175,000 truck drivers by 2026. Fewer drivers could mean that fewer goods will be moved in a timely fashion, which could limit the amount of goods consumers can get quickly.
