According to a report by Reuters, the US State Department urged Canada and Saudi Arabia to resolve the worsening dispute that began after Canadian comments expressing concern over the arrests of activists in the Arab state. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said, "Both sides need to diplomatically solve this together. We can’t do it for them, they need to resolve it together." Canada is reportedly looking to the United Arab Emirates and Britain to help defuse the spat, as sources said on Tuesday that traders in the Arab state would no longer buy Canadian wheat and barley.
