UNC football has announced the suspension of 13 players. According to Deadspin, the college athletes were caught in January selling pairs of team-issued special edition Air Jordans to a local business for as much as $2,500 a pair. The school has since forced every player on the team to return their shoes. Nine players, most notably possible starting quarterback Chazz Surratt, got a four-game suspension, while two others received a two-game ban, and the final two will only miss one game. Head coach Larry Fedora said “These young men knew the rules and are being held responsible for the poor choices they have made".
