According to a report by Politico, Republicans on Capitol Hill said on Tuesday that they want and expect any final agreement made between President Donald Trump and North Korea to be submitted for their approval. In 2015, Congressional Republicans were enraged that President Barack Obama submitted the Iran nuclear deal as a signed legislation as opposed to a treaty. Politico reports that now Republicans hope Trump won’t make the same mistake, and will instead choose to work towards an enduring accord with North Korea that his successor would be unable to systematically dismantle.
