The White House has disinvited the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles from their ceremonial visit. Several players protested against police brutality and racial injustice during the 2017 season. Four Philadelphia players said they did not plan on attending the White House ceremony. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins explained his reasoning for skipping the event back in February. "I don't want to take away from anybody's experience or make it a big distraction. It's a celebratory event, and I want the guys who choose to go or whatever to enjoy that." "I'm just not interested in the photo op." In 2017, Patriots players chose to skip the visit for the same reasons but were still hosted by Trump. The Eagles were prepared to send a smaller delegation, but Trump chose to cancel instead.
