Prett Bharara To Run For New York Attorney General?

Prett Bharara, who served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2009 to 2017, is being urged to run for New York Attorney General. GOP consultant John Weaver says of Bharara, "He’s the Eliot Ness that we need today. I understand that he wouldn’t want to campaign, and it would be distasteful. But in this case, it would be a crusade. And crusades are never distasteful.” Bharara gained national recognition last year when he forced Donald Trump to fire him after refusing to resign. In the 14 months since he was let go, Bharara has been a regular contributor on CNN, taught classes and hosted a podcast.
