Michigan State University has agreed to pay $500 million to hundreds of women who say they were sexually assaulted by the former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. After standing trial earlier this year, Nassar is now in jail for sexually abusing young girls and women under the guise of medical treatment. The payment resolves various lawsuits filed on behalf of 332 women and girls against the university. The settlement applies to only Michigan State University and MSU individuals sued in the litigation. According to the announcement of the settlement, the women will not be required to sign confidentiality agreements or non-disclosure agreements.
