On Tuesday, Seattle Mariners All-Star infielder Robinson Cano was handed an 80-game suspension by the MLB for violating the league's joint drug agreement. In a statement, Cano said he has accepted the suspension adding that he unknowingly took a medication called Furosemide that is banned from pro baseball, but is not said to be a performance-enhancing drug. He then added, "I was the most difficult decision I have ever made in my life, but ultimately the right decision given that I do not dispute that I was given this substance." Cano will now lose roughly half of his salary for the 2018 season, or more than $11 million.
