Dolores O'Riordan, frontwoman of the Irish rock band The Cranberries, has died in London at 46 years old.

O'Riordan, who rose to fame in the 90s with hits like "Dreams," "Linger," and "Zombie," was in London for a short recording session when it was reported that she died suddenly on Monday morning.

No further details were given by the band's rep.

"Irish and international singer Dolores O'Riordan has died suddenly in London today," the band posted on their Facebook page. "She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries, was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.

"Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

O'Riordan auditioned for The Cranberry Saw Us in 1990, before the band ultimately changed their name to The Cranberries. They released five albums together—Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? (1993), No Need to Argue (1994), To the Faithful Departed (1996), Bury the Hatchet (1999), and Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (2001), as well as a greatest-hits compilation, Stars: The Best of 1992–2002 (2002)—before a hiatus from 2003 to 2009. After reuniting, they later released Roses (2012) and Something Else(2017).

Aside from her work with The Cranberries, O'Riordan also released two solo albums— Are You Listening? (2007) and No Baggage (2009)—during the band's hiatus. When the band regrouped, they planned a tour in 2017, but they were forced to cancel most of the gigs when she began to suffer from back pain.

The singer's personal life has been somewhat tumultuous in recent times, as divorced her husband of 20 years, Don Burton, the former tour manager of Duran Duran, in 2014. The couple had three children together. She also revealed in May 2017 that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder two years earlier. According to TMZ, she also attempted suicide by overdosing in 2013. She also revealed that she believed many of her issues were sparked from being abused as a child.
