At a music festival in Jones County, Iowa on Friday and Saturday, Country duo Florida Georgia Line requested that no armed police officers be allowed backstage. Police took offense to this request, but in a statement released by the group on Tuesday it said that having local police was "redundant" since they already have their own security and that "what happened over the weekend was a misunderstanding that was blown out of proportion." They also said that they are "supportive of the police" and that they have "enormous amounts of respect" for them.
