Beyoncé's "Making The Gift" Documentary Airs On Monday

2019-09-17 02:52:40

Wish you knew more about Beyoncé? You may find out more about her creative music making process on ABC on Monday, September 16, when "Beyoncé Presents: Making The Gift'" airs at 10 p.m. EDT. Just like her hit Netflix film "Homecoming," in which she gave fans an inside look as she prepared headline Coachella, Queen Bey is doing it again. This time she's offering viewers an inside look of her creating music for The Lion King. The superstar curated and produced the film's companion album and wrote, directed and produced the documentary. CNN explains, "The 30-track playlist quickly overshadowed the movie's actual soundtrack and one track -- "Brown Skin Girl" -- quickly became an empowerment anthem." Fans will be invited into her grueling creative process. They'll see the mother of three brainstorming in meetings, and in the studio recording tracks for the ambitious album. Beyoncé described "The Gift" as her "love letter to Africa." It features music collaborations with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Pharrell Williams, and African artists including Wizkid and Shatta Wale.
