Business Insider says that the truth is that most so-called 'superfoods' are a gimmick. Scientists and nutritionists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention listed the top 25  healthy foods, in order of how much nutrition they pack per calorie.
Business Insider says that studies suggest that people who eat more of these foods tend to have a longer life expectancy and "a reduced risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes."
Their list includes:
Cabbage: Packed with calcium, iron, fiber, folate, and vitamins.
Cauliflower: Has lots of fiber and folate.
Brussels sprouts: Has compounds also found in other leafy greens like broccoli, which may lower the risk of certain cancers.
Pumpkin: A cup of pumpkin packs in more potassium than a banana.
Additional real 'superfoods' include: broccoli, collard greens and bell peppers.
