With the unofficial beginning of summer comes the kickoff of the 2013 edition of Bushwick Open Studios, where artists across the neighborhood open their doors to peers and visitors to showcase art and culture—complete, in many cases, with refreshments at each stop.

“Bushwick Open Studios (BOS) is a three day arts and culture festival that celebrates the community’s vibrant arts scene with the goal of fostering dialogue and collaboration between local artists and residents. The festival, now in its seventh year, is hosted by the volunteer organization Arts in Bushwick (AiB) and is free and open to the public,” AiB notes on their website.

The official BOS Launch Party will be held tonight at Shea Stadium, located at 20 Meadow Street. The party runs from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. with an open bar from 8 to 9 p.m., sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery. A photo-booth with a live digital feed will also be available, courtesy of The Bosco. Admission is $10 at the door.

For more information on the kickoff party, visit the Facebook page, and be sure to stop by some of the studio spaces in Bushwick throughout the weekend.
