Granted, the current White House administration gave them a lot of material over the past few months, but NBC's Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Summer Edition came out swinging.

After weeks of wondering who would get to play Anthony Scaramucci, we had our answer: former SNL cast member and current film star Bill Hader.

Anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che wasted no time in launching straight into the current stories featured in the news including the "game of chicken" that Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un are playing out through the news.

They also touched on Donald Trump Jr.'s own Russian scandal by bringing in the characters of Don Jr. and Eric. Don Jr. continued to try and weasel his way out of any responsibility for his meeting, while Eric kept butting in and implicating his brother further. Eventually, Don Jr. gave Eric a fidget spinner to occupy him.

Returning to the news, Che was interrupted by a FaceTime call from "Anthony Scaramucci," played by Hader. Throughout the call, he insisted on being called "Mooch."

"Everybody loves the Mooch," he insisted. "I'm like human cocaine. You got a little bump of me. I made you feel excited, but I was out of your system too quick. And now that I'm gone, you're all depressed and edgy, and you're trying to figure out how to score some more Scaramouch!"

He refused to back down from his comments from the interview he did containing foul language. He tried to clean it up for primetime and said he was misquoted: "I didn't say that Bannon tried to 'S his own C,' he did it! He made contact! I saw it!"

Eventually, Mooch said he didn't regret his time in the White House as all he did was "sell my company, miss the birth of my child, and ruin my entire reputation, all to be king of Idiot Mountain for 11 days."

Finally, they cut the "call" once the Mooch offered his comedy writing services and launched into, "Hickory Dickory Dock. Steve Bannon was sucking ..."
