Taylor Swift headed to court this week.

She's hardly known for controversy. The singer wants to fight a lawsuit against a DJ who allegedly groped her during a meet-and-greet on her tour. The sexual assault trial, which takes place in Colorado, has been taking place all week. She's testified this week against radio host David Mueller, who she accused of sexual assault.

The trial at the U.S. District Court in Denver, Colorado, is expected to last nine days. It started on Monday in front of an eight-person jury. It then opened to the public on Tuesday, August 7. This trial is one of the hottest tickets in town. Members of the public can claim one of the 32 free passes to sit in court and watch the trial. Mueller sued Swift and her team in September 2015. He claimed that she falsely accused him of groping her and getting him fired. Swift countersued in October 2015 for assault and battery.

Taylor Swift revealed she met Mueller and his girlfriend in June 2013 on her Red World Tour. They met during a meet-and-greet ahead of the singer's concert in Denver. Swift and her team claims Mueller groped her during the photo shoot. Photographic evidence shows Mueller reaching and grabbing Swift's behind as she tries to inch away from him.

"He took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my a** cheek, and no matter how much I scooted over, it was still there," Swift said, according to court documents. "It was completely intentional, I've never been so sure of anything in my life."

Swift did not report the incident to the police. Instead, she spoke about Mueller's alleged groping to her team. She also spoke to her mother Andrea Swift about what happened. Mueller was then approached by a group of security guards who removed him from the premises. Mueller claims that it cost him his career.

Frank Bell, the singer's radio promotions director, contact Mueller's bosses at KYGO radio to report the incident. According to the singer's defense, he did not demand any specific action to be taken, although he expected the management to "take appropriate action," reports Newsweek. The singer has evidence to support her side of the story – the photo taken at the time, which was supposed to be sealed, and her security guard Greg Dent's eyewitness account.

Swift is expected to give testimony and evidence to the alleged incident, which left her feeling "violated." She didn't want to bring attention to it, but she was upset by Mueller's claims that she may have tried to "actually fabricate this story," that she had to fight back. In addition, Swift and her team have beefed up security at her meet-and-greets.

"I remember being frantic, distressed, feeling violated in a way I had never experienced before," she said. "A meet-and-greet is supposed to be a situation where you're thanking people for coming, you're supposed to be welcoming people into your home, which is the arena for that day, and for someone to violate that hospitality in that way, I was completely stunned."

According to Mueller's defense, he claims that he only touched the singer's "rib cage, or rib, or ribs." The photo shows Mueller with his hand behind Swift, below her waist. Both are seen smiling. Swift wore a black dress with tights. She had her hair styled in a bun. While the singer was clearly traumatized by the event, Mueller claims it was more "humiliating" for him, according to The Australian.
