Millions of people spend at least some of their adulthood not having sex.
This sexual avoidance can result in emotional distress for the person avoiding it, and their partner.
According to CNN, the most common reason people avoid sex is medical--diabetes and obesity the most frequent.
After that, reasons involve social and emotional factors--and their consequences.
Doctors should ask their patients about their sex lives, and patients should feel welcome to broach the subject.
