Kid Rock appears to be inching closer and closer to formally announcing that he's running for the Senate in Michigan.

Not only has there been production of Kid Rock for Senator swag, but he shared a post that showed him leading the non-official race.

The 46-year-old singer, whose birth name is Robert James Ritchie, is a native of Michigan, born and raised in the Mitten State. He was a known supporter of Donald Trump in last year's election, though has at earlier times referred to himself as "more Libertarian."

Back in February at a Michigan Republican Party convention, his name came up as a possibility to face off against Democrat Debbie Stabenow for her Senate seat in 2018.

Last week, with a filing deadline just days away, Kid Rock still hadn't confirmed officially that he would run.

But what he did do was tweet a link for some swag for this political endeavor that has yet to be confirmed. Amongst the "Kid Rock for US Senate" gear are baseball hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers, and yard signs. And these are being offered for sale at kidrockforsenate.com.

Additionally, he tweeted a photo with the assumed logo for the campaign and the words, "I believe if you work your butt off and pay taxes, you should be able to easily understand and navigate the laws, tax codes, health care, and anything else the government puts in place that affects us all."

Along with all this, he also released two new songs: "Po-Dunk" and "Greatest Show on Earth."

While some weren't sure whether this was fake news or not, he responded, "It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 10!!"

On Monday, he then tweeted a link to a poll on a conservative blog that showed him leading Stabenow with 30 percent to her 26 percent. Interestingly, 44 percent chose not to answer at all.
