On Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence said that US President Donald Trump will be attending three summits in Asia in November. In the statement after meeting the secretary general for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Pence said that Trump would attend the US-ASEAN summits and the East Asia summits in the Philippines. Trump will also be attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam. Pence said Trump plans to work with ASEAN on security issues, trade, and freedom of navigation in the south Sea.
