Last week U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made his first visit as a senior member of the Trump cabinet to China, amid several scandals that have rocked the Trump Administration over the last 6 weeks. The meet and greet was executed quite smoothly with both sides seeming to stick to the script for the majority of the visit. President Trump, not one to be left out of the "party" tried to insert himself, sending out a tweet criticizing China the night before Tillerson was set to land in Beijing. Even with the tweet there was little need for damage control as Tillerson's meetings went off without controversy. Tillerson concluded his visit on Sunday, on a high note as Chinese President Xi Jinping praised his "active efforts" in making a smooth transition of the U.S.-China relationship to the Trump era.
