Soft raw milk cheese made by Vulto Creamery in New York has been identified as the likely source of a listeria outbreak that killed two people and sent four more—including a newborn—to the hospital, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Due to the risk, Vulto recalled several of its wash-rind raw milk cheeses Tuesday, according to an FDA announcement. Champions of the trend believe minimally processed foods like raw milk are loaded with extra health benefits, but that’s not always the case, the CDC reports.
