Canadian rock star Bif Naked is set to release her sixth full-length studio album, Bif Naked Forever: Acoustic Hits & Other Delights, on December 4.
Boasting three new tracks and a handful of other hits re-recorded acoustically, Bif Naked Forever will also stream on CBCMusic.ca beginning November 27, along with live performance content, according to a press release.
Bif Naked Forever’s new tracks include the current single, “So Happy I Could Die,” on which songwriter and producer Ryan Stewart (of Carly Rae Jepsen fame) lent a hand. Also featured are the new songs “The Only One” and “Nobody Knows.”
Bif, whose music has been featured on shows like Daria and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has also re-recorded hits like “Lucky,” “Moment of Weakness” and “Spaceman” off of her 1998 album I Bificus, as well as a handful of tracks throughout her career. She was inspired to record the album after reuniting with John Dexter, who worked with Bif on her debut album, Bif Naked (1995).
“This is such an extraordinary time in my life, and in my art I am drowning in the thrill of creating and performing music that makes me tremble. I am extremely excited to have the original team together who were pivotal on my first album. The inclusion of Ryan Stewart as producer and co-writer has brought a fantastic element to this album,” Bif said in the press release. “Music and art give me hope, and this record has been made with warm love and deep feelings that I so enjoy sharing with my beautiful fans.”
Since her 1995 debut, Bif has released five studio albums. Her album I Bificus went Platinum, while the 2001 follow-up, Purge, went Gold. She then joined forces with Bodog Music to release Superbeautifulmonster in 2005. After battling breast cancer, she then released 2009’s The Promise, telling the story of her survival.
Bif Naked Forever: Acoustic Hits & Other Delights is up for sale online on December 4 through Reliant Music, Warner Music Canada and Bif’s own label, Her Royal Majesty’s Records. Meanwhile, the rocker is currently writing her autobiography, which will be released next year via Harper Collins Publishing.
