Stevie Wonder has filed for divorce from wife of 11 years, Kai Millard Morris.

The couple has been separated since October 2009, according to court documents obtained by TMZ, and Wonder has cited the Hollywood staple of “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Wonder, whose legal name is Stevland Morris, has also asked for joint custody of the couple’s two children, 10-year-old Kailand and 7-year-old Mandla. He also agrees to pay both spousal and child support.

Wonder met his bride in 1999 at Nell’s in Lower Manhattan, reports Harper’s Bazaar. The couple became engaged six months later and married in September 2001. Years later, Kai started up her fashion label Kai Milla Designs, though the business has since folded.

Wonder, known to be blind, signed the document using two fingerprints.
