The Spice Girls reunited in London today to celebrate the launch of the new musical Viva Forever!, which is based on the group’s hits.
Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham—a.k.a. Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Posh—came together at a hotel in Central London to announce the show, reports the BBC. This is the first time the Spice Girls have united since their 2007 world tour.
Viva Forever! is conceived by Judy Cramer, producer of the ABBA musical Mamma Mia!, and written by comedian Jennifer Saunders. The plot revolves around a TV talent show and is about “the bitter reality of fame.”
Viva Forever! will begin previews on November 27 and open on December 11 at London’s Piccadilly Theatre.
